A gentle river trip through the nomadic landscapes of the Eg River .
We take a leisurely trip on the Eg River downstream from Lake Hovsgol stopping to fish or visit local families. The Eg River, or Egiin Gol in Mongolian, drains Lake Hovsgol, eventually joining the Selenge River that flows into Lake Baigal in Russia. The first part of this trip passes though a wide valley dotted with gers where we will pass herds of horses and yaks driking from the river. The valley then narrows, passing spectacular cliffs;some easy rapids add excitement. This tour provides good opportunitiesfor bird watching, especially the mighty white tailed fish eagles soaring overhead.Five days easy padding using our inflatable kayaks with occasional grade I and II rapids.
